Why do I hear a ‘beep’ when I place a call using the VoIP service?

By default, we enable a status tone (beep) on the VoIP system that alerts you to the fact you are using the VoIP system, as opposed to your normal landline.

You can disable this tone from within the customer portal under the voice configuration section.
