This article uses screen shots from the Netgear DG834G router. However, different Netgear models have a very similar interface, so this guide should be useful for them.

Open up your web browser (eg. Internet explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari)

Click in your browsers address bar and enter the address of your routers configuration page, by default on Netgear equipment this is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 for earlier models.

You should now be presented with a login box. Enter your username and password.

The defaults are (case sensitive):

User Name: admin
Password: Either admin or password

Once logged in you will be presented with this webpage or something similar.

Click the Basic Settings menu entry on the left.

You should be presented with the following screen. This is where we’ll type in the username (called Login by the Netgear) and password, that you can find in your welcome letter. The password is case sensitive. Make sure all the other settings are as shown below. Then click Apply.

You may find you’re now connected to the internet. To check, you can click the Test button – if it’s working, you should find yourself with the Netgear Success page in front of you. If so, well done! You’ve just configured your router.

If you’re not connected, or the Test failed, please continue reading

Click the ADSL Settings menu entry on the left hand menu.

You should now see this page, make sure the settings match those shown below. Then click Apply.

Your router should now be correctly set up to access the internet through our service. If you find it isn’t working, the first thing to do is to check your username and password on the Basic Settings page.

If you’re certain these are correct and you still can’t connect, then please call our support team on 641188, who’ll be happy to help you out.
