It is important that you have a reserved or static IP address as the rules are set to forward ports to a specific IP address. If you haven’t configured a reserved or static IP address it will change each time you reboot your computer, and the ports will not forward to the correct device.
This guide shows you how to add port forwarding rules on a Linksys router for Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Call of Duty – Black Ops requires you to forward the following ports:
- 3074 TCP/UDP
- 3478-4380 TCP/UDP
- 27000-27050 TCP/UDP
Open your web browser and clear anything in the address bar, enter in the address for your Linksys router, the default address is 192.168.1.1
You will then me prompted for a username and password, by default these are both set to “admin”.
Click the “Applications & Gaming” tab then “Port Range Forwarding”.
Enter in the desired rules for the application you wish to forward ports for, ensuring the IP Address is set to the static IP of the device that you wish to use the service on.
Click “Save Settings” to complete the configuration.
