When preforming the initial configuration of a router for use with our Broadband service we recommend that you connect using a wired Ethernet connection.

First ensure that your router is correctly connected via a micro filter to your phone line.

Now open your web browser and clear anything in the address bar. Type in 192.168.1.254 and press enter.

You should now see the Thompson router configuration page, click “Thompson Gateway” from the left hand menu.

From the “Thompson Gateway” menu select “Set Up” from under “Pick a task…”.

You should now see the Thompson gateway easy setup window pop up, select “Next >”.

From the select a service list you should have at least 3 options, Data (Default), Data (EthWAN) & a Wi-Manx service.

NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A WI-MANX SERVICE LISTED IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOUR ROUTER HAS BEEN RESET, YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT OUR SUPPORT TEAM AND ARRANGE TO HAVE YOUR ROUTER CONFIGURED.

Once you have selected Wi-Manx from the services list, you will be presented with a dialogue box requesting your User Name, Password, SIP account & SIP password, you should have received this information in the welcome letter you received when you signed up to the service. Once you have entered in all your information click “Next >” to proceed to the next step.

From this menu you can set up the wireless access name (SSID), the type of wireless security you wish to use, we recommend WPA. Once you are happy click “Next >” to continue to the next step.

You will now see a screen with a summary of all the information you have just entered, check it over to make sure its all correct then press “Start>” to save the settings to the router.

The router should now reboot, the reboot process can take up to 2 minuets, when the router has rebooted the broadband, phone and internet lights should all be green.
